The cost-effective splicer also can be used for maintenance, repair and educational purposes. Compact and lightweight, it's a true hand-held machine that allows convenient splicing in almost any location. It's about a third the size of a typical mini-splicer and doesn't require a flat surface.

Operate the portable S121A around the neck using the included four-piece strap. Just set fibers in place and press a button for fast splicing. The fully automatic process of fiber feed, alignment, splicing arc and tension test takes just seconds. Monitor all splicing operations for accuracy using the unit's integrated CCD camera and 2.5-inch color LCD display. The monitor displays a clear magnified image of the fibers as viewed by the camera. This allows for simple and accurate confirmation of splice quality. Both fibers are automatically inspected before and after splice, and estimation loss is displayed.

For cordless usage, the S121A comes with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and recharger. This recharger can accommodate up to two batteries at one time, and the remaining charge is displayed on the screen for easy monitoring. Order the optional S959 adapter for ac power.
